# AOL übernimmt Bebo für 850 Millionen $

Bebo hat laut eigenen Angaben 40 Millionen Nutzer weltweit. Besonders stark aufgestellt ist bebo im UK und Irland. Im Dezember '07 hat Bebo eine Plattform für Applikationen gestartet, welche [mit der Plattform von Facebook kompatibel](http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/bebo%5Fadopts%5Ffacebook%5Fplatform.php) ist. Im Januar '08 wurde diese Plattform [für alle Drittanbieter von Applikationen geöffnet](http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/bebo%5Fopens%5Fup%5F100%5Fpercent.php).
