Google hat mit der Veröffentlichung eines [Browser-Addons](http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) [Google Analytics](http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/) für Internet-Nutzer opt-out gemacht. Mit diesem Addon können sich Nutzer nun dafür entscheiden, [dass Google Analytics keine Daten mehr von ihnen speichert:](http://analytics.blogspot.com/2010/05/greater-choice-and-transparency-for.html)

> First, we’re announcing the availability of the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The opt-out provides users with a choice of whether information about website visits is collected by Google Analytics. The add-on stops data from being sent from your computer when you visit websites that use Google Analytics Javascript (ga.js) to track usage.

Meines Wissens nach ist Google der erste Anbieter eines Websiteanalyse-Tools, der diese Funktion einführt.

[Das Addon](http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) ist für Internet Explorer (7 und 8), Google Chrome (4.x und höher) und Mozilla Firefox (3.5 und höher) verfügbar.
