# Google übernimmt Fitbit: Pro und Kontra

[Google gibt die Übernahme von Fitbit bekannt](https://blog.google/products/hardware/agreement-with-fitbit?utm%5Fsource=tw&utm%5Fmedium=social&utm%5Fcampaign=og). Der Preis wird bei 2,1Milliarden $ liegen.

Was spricht dafür, was dagegen?

**Pro:**

Bis jetzt hatte niemand eine gute Antwort auf Apples erfolgreiche Wearables-Strategie gefunden. (Watch, AirPods) Neben der hervorragenden Hardware rührt der Erfolg auch aus der First-Party-Integration in iOS her. Google kann hier First-Party-Integrationen für Android bauen.

Auch gut: Im Gegensatz zu den Pixel/Nexus-Geräten von Google konkurriert der Konzern hier nicht mit den Herstellern der Android-Smartphones, also seinen eigenen Partnern, und muss auch nicht mit, sagen wir, dem Distributionsnetzwerk und Marketingbudget eines Samungs konkurrieren. Stattdessen würden erfolgreiche Wearables von Google für Android das gesamte Android-Ökosystem aufwerten. (Und würden zusätzlich ein neues Geschäftsfeld aufmachen. (Services rund um Wearables, etwa Google Assistant; Apple verdient auch gutes Geld mit dem Verkauf von Watch et al))
