Ein Verkauf von [MOG](https://mog.com/), das nur in den USA verfügbar ist, wird bereits seit ein paar Wochen [vermutet](http://neumusik.com/2012-02-sucht-streaming-anbieter-mog-einen-kaufer/).

MOG ist als eine Mischung aus Last.fm und Plattform für Musik- und Musikerblogs 2005 gestartet und wechselte mit dem Aufkommmen von Rhapsody und Spotify zu On-Demand-Streaming.

HTC hat sich in den letzten Jahren vor allem als Hersteller von Android-Smartphones einen Namen gemacht. Dieser Kauf dürfte ein erster Schritt von HTC sein, ein umfassenderes Plattformangebot aufzubauen, welches es mit Apples iOS (iPhone, iPod, iPad) aufnehmen kann.
