# iTunes gehört nach 10 Jahren praktisch zu den 50 größten Händlern weltweit

Vor zehn Jahren hat Apple iTunes als Downloadshop für Musik gestartet. iTunes ist seit damals eine enorm erfolgreiche Plattform geworden, deren Ausmaße oft übersehen werden.

[Horace Dediu hat auf asymco ein paar Zahlen eingeordnet](http://www.asymco.com/2013/04/29/happy-birthday-itunes-store/):

Dediu setzt die Zahlen von iTunes auch in einen größeren Kontext:

> Selling $20 billion a year would put iTunes in the top 20 US retailers and top 50 Global retailers.

Nicht schlecht für eine zehn Jahre junges Geschäft.
