[Netflix](http://movies.netflix.com/), Marktführer in den USA im On-Demand-Streaming-Markt für Filme und Serien, ist mittlerweile nicht nur groß genug, um für Film- und Fernsehstudios einen neuen lukrativen Lizenzmarkt geschaffen zu haben, sondern ist sogar beim gesamten Internettraffic, HD-Video sei dank, spürbar. [Businessweek](http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-05-09/netflix-reed-hastings-survive-missteps-to-join-silicon-valleys-elite):

> On a normal weeknight, Netflix (NFLX) accounts for almost a third of all Internet traffic entering North American homes. That’s more than YouTube, Hulu, Amazon.com (AMZN), HBO Go, iTunes, and BitTorrent combined. \[..\]

Die Größe und die damit einhergehende Marktmacht (Verhandlungsmacht) von Netflix dürfte vielen in Deutschland noch nicht bewusst sein. Spannend wird es hierzulande, wenn RTL und co. mit Netflix konkurrieren werden müssen. Mit Amazons [Lovefilm](https://www.lovefilm.de/) und [Watchever](http://www.watchever.de/) drängen auch andere Anbieter dieser Art bereits auf den Markt. Ein deutsches Netflix ist nur eine Frage der Zeit.
