> Most obviously, Dropbox would use Audiogalaxy — or maybe just the people who built it — to add some sort of music functionality to Dropbox. We can think of two reasons this might take a while: 1) Negotiating the licensing for something like that will be tough, especially considering that Dropbox is as much a collaborative tool for file sharing as it is an online repository for individual people's data; and 2) Audiogalaxy and Dropbox are sort of apples and oranges, for the reasons mentioned above. \[..\] Nobody — not Amazon, Apple, or Google — has begun to dominate the music locker space. Dropbox, with its hordes of users/salespeople, could make a big dent fast, assuming it has the will and legal resources to make that happen.

Dropbox dürfte mehr Nutzer haben als iTunes Match, Google Music und Amazon Web Player *zusammen*. Die Mehrzahl der iPad-Nutzer dürfte auch Dropbox-Nutzer sein. Auf einigen Samsung-Geräten ist Dropbox mittlerweile dank einer Kooperation vorinstalliert. Kurz: Der Einstieg von Dropbox in das Webmusik-Geschäft wird aller Voraussicht nach hohe Wellen schlagen.

*Dass* etwas in dieser Richtung kommen wird, dürfte jedem nach der Übernahme von Audiogalaxy letztes Jahr klar sein.
