Der beliebte und mittlerweile einige Jahre alte Linkaggregator Popurls wird von TweetUp übernommen. Popurls wurde von dem Österreicher Thomas Marban entwickelt und betrieben.
Zusätzlich hat TweetUp Twidroid, den ebenfalls von Marban entwickelten Twitter-Client für Android, gekauft. TechCrunch zu den Details:
Twidroid and popurls weren’t incorporated as such – they were operated by a startup called tomatic, founded by Austrian serial entrepreneur Thomas Marban. The acquisition represents another score for Marban in a series of 3 – he has now sold all three of his most recent ventures, the longest one he held on to being software company Celum, which was acquired back in 2007 after he co-founded it in 1998.
Judging from his already updated personal website, he’ll serve as an advisor to Idealab going forward.
